Abstract
I’ve always thought that it would do the field of linguistics (and the humanities generally) a whole lot of good if linguists were also doing literary studies. I’m an old-fashioned philologist in this way and I have never been able to see that much good ever came from separating linguistics and literary studies and language education from each other.
