Using 'Yoko' to develop knowledge about language

Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

Abstract

'Yoko' is a picture book by American author- illustrator Rosemary Wells. I recently chose this book as the introductory text in an integrated English/Geography unit of work I wrote for Year Three called 'We are similar but different'. The unit is freely available on the website Global Words, (World Vision and PETAA, 2014). Here I will briefly introduce the book and then share some activities for using 'Yoko' in the classroom.
