Abstract

The impact of 355 nm irradiation of commercially available polymer used in fibre coatings on the UV absorption profile is monitored both with and without hydrogen loading. Limitations in practical 355 nm exposure of optical fibre through the coatings for UV processing of photosensitive fibres are discussed.
