Abstract

The article focuses on a study which describes the communal and deep nesting in Varanus acanthurus, a spiny-tailed monitor lizard, from a Sand Monitor or Varanus gouldii nesting warren in tropical Western Australia. Other information about the nesting biology, reproduction, and commensalism of monitor lizards is presented.
