Abstract

As part of the Warm Bodies exhibition at Sydney's Cement Fondu Gallery, Dr Safdar Ahmed and I performed as the anti-racist, Muslim Death Metal Band Hazeen, notably performing a death metal version of Jean Baptiste Lully's opera Armida, in an attempt to critique Orientalist and Imperialist overtones in Western classical music.
