Abstract

Waterfall Way is a composition that explores the use altered harmony in a jazz trio setting (alto saxophone/bass/drums). The composition's non-diatonic approach is counter-balanced by the relaxed bossa-nova rhythmic feel. A key change on the D.C creates an additional feeling of musical development and forward motion.

Instrumentation: Lead sheets for E flat, B flat, bass clef & concert treble instruments.
