Abstract

A wavelength locked pulsed dye laser system is disclosed. The system includes a low-power continuous wave laser disposed to inject continuous wave, single wavelength, laser light emitted therefrom into the optical cavity of a pulsed dye laser whereby the wavelength of pulsed laser light emitted from the dye laser is locked at the wavelength of the continuous wave, single wavelength, laser light. Also disclosed is a method of operating a pulsed dye laser system to provide a wavelength locked pulsed laser light. The method includes providing a low-power continuous wave laser and a pulsed dye laser and aligning the lasers relative to each other such that a continuous wave, single wavelength, laser light emitted from the continuous wave laser is injected into the optical cavity of the pulsed dye laser whereby the wavelength of pulsed laser light emitted from the dye laser is locked at the wavelength of the laser light injected into the optical cavity.
