Abstract
A framework for analyzing service composition reuse and specialization is discussed in relation to web enabled applications. Service components represent modularized service-based applications that package together service interfaces with associated business logic into a single module. Once service component classes are defined, they can be reused and specialized by adding or overriding their definitions. A prototype system for service components, which is being implemented in Java, provides an integrated environment for service composition.
