    Abstract

This contribution discusses the activity of Lord Belmore in Theban Tomb 148 in January 1818. It is based on the account of Belmore's physician Robert Richardson (Travels Along The Mediterranean, And Parts Adjacent), an analysis of archival material (Burton notebooks, letters of Arthur Weigall, letter of Heinrich Abeken of the Prussian Expedition, map of John Gardner Wilkinson), as well as data from excavations conducted by the author in the tomb.
