Abstract

There is a growing body of literature exploring the efficacy of targeted pedagogical strategies to improve historical literacy skills in school students, but there are fewer studies evaluating the effect of museum pedagogies. This may be due to the short period of intervention that can be measured in the museum context, because many school excursions to museums involve a single visit of thirty minutes to three hours duration. Despite the difficulty in measuring the impact of museum pedagogy on student learning, the topic of effectual museum pedagogies is of great interest to History teachers.
