Abstract
It is well established that mentors play an important role in the development and success of pre-service and early career teachers. They provide the social support, encouragement, pedagogical guidance, professional insight and knowledge of local context so essential to the morale of early career teachers, including their commitment and resilience to stay in the profession (Boreen et al., 2009; Morettini et al., 2020).
