Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic proved the dynamic and tactical use of the Internet as an arena for anti- racist efforts. While users have co-opted the Internet to showcase, engage and share their non- compliance with racism, white supremacists have sought to ‘troll’ organisers and viewers to distract, disturb and demean anti-racism efforts through ‘Zoom-bombing’. Expanding on the concept of ‘shitposting’, a style of writing employed by white supremacist Internet users to discuss contentious topics, attract unfamiliar audiences, and coat harmful ideologies with layers of irony, I will offer an analysis that situates Zoom-bombing as a tool of the far-right that seeks to disturb social justice online.
